Meet Lindsay

With a career that began in 2000 at her local bike shop, Lindsay quickly became involved in leading rides, with a particular focus on supporting and encouraging women in the sport. Working at several shops across the country, Lindsay led women’s specific mountain and road rides. In 2008 Lindsay sustained a severe injury from mountain biking and as a result founded Shine Riders Co, to stay connected to the community and create programming to progress women’s mountain biking while on the sidelines. In 2012, she earned her first certification as a professional mountain bike skills instructor, in hopes of increasing rider safety and preventing unnecessary injuries..

Lindsay has since taught mountain bike skills to individuals of all ages and backgrounds across the country under the brands Shine and Still Peaking. She currently works as a contractor for the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, Everwild and Elevate. Past contracts include the Trek Dirt Series, Ladies AllRide and the Midwest Women’s Clinic. She led a mountain biking program for a youth summer camp for several seasons and continues to volunteer hundreds of hours a year leading rides and teaching essential skills to keep riders safe and help build community.

Beyond bike skills instruction, Lindsay teaches mountain bike set up, trailside repair and other workshops. She taught Hiking, Biking and Camping at the University of Maine Farmington and played a pivotal role in organizing collegiate races for USA Cycling on the west coast for several seasons. Lindsay currently volunteers her time on the board of Six Rivers NEMBA and has worked over the years for Maine Trail Builder. She is a Registered Maine Guide and also volunteers for the Black Mountain of Maine Ski Patrol.

  • “I attended Coach Lindsay's 3-day women's downhill camp, coming in with minimal experience and a lot of fear from a past crash. Lindsay's coaching was nothing short of transformative! She taught me not only how to ride safely but also how to truly enjoy the thrill of downhill mountain biking. Her contagious enthusiasm and focus on building foundational skills helped me conquer double black diamond trails and tackle jumps and drops with confidence. By the end of the weekend, I was riding fearlessly without crashing. Thanks to Lindsay, I've since gone on to race and podium in downhill, enduro, cross-country, and ultra-endurance mountain bike events. Her coaching has given me a solid foundation that I think of every time I ride. I couldn't be more grateful for Coach Lindsay and her incredible business—she's truly made a lasting impact on my mountain biking journey!"

  • “10/10 would definitely recommend! Lindsay had agreed to give me a beginner lesson, but before we even started she fixed the position of my brake levers and shifters, greatly increasing my comfort and safety. She covered all the basics of body position, cornering, looking ahead, and really took my skills and confidence to the next level.
